Mission & vision

At Monterey Personal Training we’re committed to bringing inspired expert personal training to you

Why is Personal Training so Important for everyone?

Personal training has the ability to substantially increase clients’ quality of life. Full stop. Increasing your physical activity will help your heart, body, and mind.

Personal training has the ability to help clients better manage big-picture chronic issues like persistent pain, sarcopenia, metabolic syndrome, psychiatric diseases, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis. Not to mention that developing strength has been shown to help you live longer. Personal training can also help you with physique, toning up, and athletic goals. It can also help you better manage and alleviate stress. This is why The World Health Organization recommends a minimum of 150 minutes of aerobic activity and a minimum of 2 1-hour resistance training sessions per week for every single person.

Personal training is seriously important for everyone’s health and wellbeing, and in a world where only 15% of people meet these guidelines, we felt this needed to change.

The only challenge that limits potential clients abilities to get to these goals are that many trainers don’t have the scientific academic background to help clients implement these changes safely, professionally, and effectively. At the same time, many clients are busy, are restricted to sharing gym surfaces, and don’t have time to go to the gym to enact these changes. You don’t need the heavy equipment of the gym to get effective results.

At Monterey Personal Training we seek to eliminate these barriers to increasing clients’ quality of life so that all clients can experience the benefits of expert academic personal training from the convenience and safety of their own personal space.

Why are Personal Trainers so important to people achieving their fitness and health goals?

Personal trainers have the want and ability to help people change their lives. They are amazing personalities that thrive on helping others. Trainers live a life of service and are not treated fairly for the service they provide.

Many trainers have gone through the rigors of receiving a degree in science and hundreds of hours and continuing education all to not be provided adequate compensation and job stability.

80% of personal trainers quit the field within 2 years. Most personal trainers at box gyms are expected to work 16 hours a day, with less than half of that being compensated for. They are expected to be sales professionals first, personal trainers second. Many are not provided clients, and if they are, must work split shifts to fulfill a full client load. Working 14 hours to get paid for 8 hours of work. This is not fair for personal trainers and needs to change.

At Monterey Personal Training we provide the resources for personal trainers to become successful independent business owners. We give the needed financial stability to live by paying over 2 times the national average pay rate. We work hard to let the trainers focus on what they love: personal training, not sales, marketing, and operations. Our personal trainers choose their ideal schedules and are free to stop working split shifts by only receiving clients in their preferred time slots. We wanted to create a working environment that treated personal trainers with the respect they deserve and give to others.
